Praying the Word Ministries is an affiliate of TMCI,
TheMissionary Church International.
If I could only use one word to describe what God does through missions,
it would be HOPE. Over and over again,
I witness HOPE being reborn in the hearts of people!
This all started when God began stirring a desire in me ... a desire to reach out to those in need of prayer, because He, our walk with Him, LIFE in Christ is all about prayer.
An old phrase kept coming to mind.... "a wing and a prayer". I looked up the phrase in a search. Here is what I found:
I quote, " …it means that whatever situation you are in, you’re relying on hope (God) to see you through." Believe me, there’s nothing capricious about it. It comes from a famous American World War Two patriotic song, with words by Harold Adamson and music by Jimmy McHugh. It tells the tale of a plane struggling home after a bombing raid:
Comin’ in on a wing and a prayer
What a show, what a fight
Boys, we really hit our target for tonight
How we sing as we limp through the air
Look below, there’s our field over there
Though there’s one motor gone
We can still carry on
Comin’ in on a wing and a prayer."
This is how I see prayer and the Prayer Team.
The Prayer Team ~ Soldiers heading into battle ... on that wing and a prayer faith, determined to accomplish the mission…how we can, when we can, where we can!
With the internet and our rocket science-world AND having had 1 Samuel 12:23 imprinted on my heart by the Lord, this 24/7 "pray as you go" prayer ministry developed.
Although not a lengthy time commitment, serious, earnest prayer is going on for each request. Pray-ers read an email…pray… and we continue on with life... our intercessor and constant companion, the Holy Spirit stirring us to prayer.
